เกาะบอนจุดชมกระเบนราหู Manta Ray at Koh Bon
เกาะบอนตั้งอยู่ในพื้นที่อุทยานแห่งชาติหมู่เกาะสิมิลัน จังหวัดพังงา เกาะบอนเป็นเกาะที่มีขนาดเล็กแต่มีแนวปะการังก่อตัวบนพื้นที่ระดับลึกรอบเกาะ และมีปะการังบางส่วนขึ้นบนแนวโขดหินโดยทั่วไปแนวปะการังลึกสุดที่ระดับ 8-10 เมตร บริเวณแหลมด้านตะวันตกเป็นแนวโขดหินชันเป็นจุดที่นิยมดำน้ำ แนวหินด้านนี้ทอดตัวยาวลงไปที่ระดับประมาณ 40 เมตร มีลักษณะเป็นกองหินก่อตัวขวางกระแสน้ำทำให้มีความหลากหลายของปะการังอ่อนหนัง (Sinularia sp.) ปะการังอ่อนต้นวุ้น (Dendronephthya sp.) และกัลปังหา สิ่งมีชีวิตที่พบส่วนใหญ่เป็นกลุ่มทากทะเลและหอยขนาดเล็กเป็นบริเวณที่พบปลาขนาดใหญ่และกระเบนราหูได้บ่อยที่สุดแห่งหนึ่ง
Koh Bon
Koh Bon is the small island located north of the Similan Island group. Reefs surrounding an island are formed around the island to the depth of 8-10 meters, some coral are encrusted on rocks and boulders. The southwestern ridge of the island lies along rocks and boulders to the depth of over 40 meters and is considered as the best diving spot of this island.
ลักษณะทางกายภาพ
จุดดำน้ำมีระดับความลึกตั้งแต่ประมาณ 1 เมตรจนถึง 45 เมตร ทัศนวิสัยมองเห็นใต้น้ำประมาณ 10-24 เมตร กระแสน้ำในบริเวณแนวปะการังไม่แรงมากนัก แต่บริเวณ ทิศตะวันตกของเกาะมีกระแสน้ำแรงในช่วงเวลาน้ำเปลี่ยนจากน้ำขึ้นเป็นน้ำลง จึงควรเลือกวิธีดำน้ำแบบไหลไปตามน้ำ
สัตว์น้ำขนาดใหญ่
ฉลามวาฬ (Rhincodon typus) ฉลามเสือดาว (Stegostoma fasciatum) ฉลามขี้เซา (Nebrius ferrugineus) กระเบนราหู (Manta birostris) ปลานกขุนทองหัวโหนก (Cheilinus undulatus) และปลากลางน้ำฝูงใหญ่ เช่น ปลามง (Scrombriodes magnifica)
สัตว์น้ำขนาดเล็ก
กุ้งตัวตลก (Hymenocera picta) หมึกกระดอง หมึกสาย งูทะเล และฝูงปลากะพง

เกาะบอนถือเป็นหนึ่งจุดดำน้ำไฮไลท์ของฝั่งอันดามันเหนือ เพราะที่นี่เป็นจุดที่พบแมนต้าเรย์ หรือกระเบนราหูได้บ่อยที่สุด และเป็นจุดที่เหมาะสมกับการดำน้ำทั้งฟรีไดฟ์ และสกูบ้า
สำหรับนักดำน้ำฟรีไดฟ์ที่ลงลึกไม่เกิน 10 เมตร คุณสามารถกระโดดลงจากท้ายเรือในขณะที่เรือจอดอยู่ในอ่าวได้เลยบริเวณในอ่าว กระแสน้ำจะค่อนข้างนิ่ง ความลึกอยู่ที่ประมาณ 7-10 เมตร และมีปะการังที่สวยงาม ให้สามารถถ่ายรูปเล่นกันได้ค่ะ
Koh Bon
Koh Bon located in Mu Koh Similan Marine National Park, Phang-Nga, is a small island with coral formations around the island at the deeper area. The deepest reefs are found at the depth of 8-10 meters. The popular diving spot is in the western ridge of the island which steeply drops to a sandy bottom at 40 meters. The location of ridge is aligned against the current circulation which is proper for many species of soft coral such as Leather coral, Jelly trunk soft coral and Sea fans. Organisms found in this area are Nudibranchs and small shellfish. Large fish and Manta Ray are also frequently found at Koh Bon.
Physical characteristics
The depth ranges from 10-45 meters, underwater visibility around 10-24 meters. Current varies from mild to strong. In particular, current is strong near the western ridge during the transition from flood to ebb tide, accordingly diver should do the drift diving instead.
Megafauna
Whale shark, Leopard shark, Nurse shark, Manta ray, Napoleon wrasse, large school of Trevally.
Small marine life
Harlequin shrimp, Cuttlefish, Octopuses, Sea snake and large school of snappers.
